Property Description
Yarmouth – especially the Village – is a place you want to live. Take it from us, we lived there for years and absolutely loved every minute of it. It's a place where you can walk to get ice cream on a hot summer evening, ride bikes to a friend's house, meet neighbors and become part of a lovely community in a meaningful way. It's safe, friendly and dare we say, idyllic. This house sits on an oversized lot, neatly situated in the heart of the Village. Surrounded by a large lawn and mature trees and across the street from a cul-de-sac – things are quiet here. We added things like a deck and a fire pit so being at home was simply sublime; if we wanted to go out, a short walk brought us to the Village Center offering restaurants, small shops, the park and Royal River, walking trails and the amazing library that really serves more as a community center. We renovated the house when we bought it – to the studs – and brought it back to life. 2 bedrooms upstairs (one en suite) and two bedrooms downstairs with a shared bath. The kitchen is custom with marble counter tops accented with butcher block. Hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and dining area with radiant heat and smart, European-style enamel radiators in the rest of the house. We loved the mud room/laundry room where people could drop muddy boots in the winter or wet towels after a day at the beach or dogs could shake off before entering the rest of the house. The detached 2 car garage has a finished space above that we used as an office – but, the uses are endless. Close to Portland and vicinity, Yarmouth boasts enviable schools and community services. We will miss it but are glad that we can offer it to a new steward to enjoy and love.
