Property Description

Welcome to Garland Pond! This 2.19-acre surveyed lot has two hundred feet of frontage on the pond. A 16 x 16 shed/bunkhouse with loft could easily be stayed in while you build your home or vacation cottage. There is even room to store your ATV. Power is at the street, but you will need to install a well and septic.
There is a nice path leading down to the waters edge where you could launch a small boat or your jetski. The parcel has year-round access on Lakeview Drive and power is at the street. This is a quiet area with very little traffic.
Garland Pond is a 102-acre body of water and is a mile and a quarter long, which is perfect for your small boat, canoe, or kayaks. Let the kids fish off the end of the dock to catch perch and pickerel. Garland Pond was created many years ago when a mill dam was built on the Kenduskeag Stream.
The topography of the land runs from about 350 feet above sea level to 300 feet at the shore which lends itself to a daylight foundation. The forest here is old growth hemlock. You can enjoy evening camps fires with the two firepits on the property.
Historically known as Lincolntown prior to its Incorporation in 1811 and today Garland has a population of about 1,000 people. The town is named after Joseph Garland whose family was the first to arrive here in 1802.
In the 1800's Garland had shoe and boot manufacturers, lumber mills, wool producers, furniture makers and the stage-line connected the town of Garland to the Maine Central Railroad in Dexter Maine. Today, Garland is a bedroom community to Bangor and Dover Foxcroft.
We are about 40 minutes southeast to Bangor and the international airport. Traveling from Boston will take about three and a half hours. An easy day trip to Moosehead Lake is just about an hour from the land.
